Mark ~ Senior 2010
Posted on November 27, 2009
I had planned a ‘Black Friday’ sale for Christmas cards — so that didn’t happened
…
But let me show you what I did do. I had another Senior session last weekend: Mark. Although I wanted to have his Senior session other than at Tempe Town Lake, we ended up there. This time I went the other direction toward the Arts Center.
Mark is attending Corona High School in Tempe. He is planning to join his older brother at NAU in Fall of 2010.
Let me share some of my personal favorite photos from Mark’s session – I chose two each from his formal wear and jeans/t-shirt outfit:
What a great smile, Mark. The purple shirt goes well with his eyes…I think…

The next shot I like because how the lines behind Mark come in to focus on him…

The next shot is on the top of my favorite list. I used an action by Sarah Cornish (Denim & Dirt) to bring out the ‘grungy’ look of the pole behind Mark…

On the next photo I used my flash, kneeling down to get the up-look…

So…let me know what you think…I really had a great time with Mark (even though it was really, really busy at TTL)…Thank you Mark for choosing Iris Nelson Portraits for your Senior photos. Best wishes for your future.

Garrett ~ Senior 2010
Posted on November 12, 2009
This past weekend I had the honor taking Garrett’s Senior photos at TTL (Tempe Town Lake). Garrett has a fantastic smile and I was able to capture it in most of the photos (there are some serious ones in collection too
).
I believe that TTL was the perfect location taking Garrett’s Senior shots; the different backdrops make the portraits interesting. I was thrilled to hear that the photos were liked by Garrett and his family. I am excited to take the family portrait next weekend.
Here are my personal favorites from Garrett’s session…

Senior Prom 2009
Posted on August 1, 2009
In July, I joined Lori Nordstrom’s photography forum “Photo Talk” . I was really hesitant on joining, because I don’t see myself in the same league as the photographers on the forum. But you know what? I can learn a whole lot from them. I really, really want to become a great portrait photographer; learning from the best photographers in the business is a great way go get there, right?
A while back (actually in May), I went to take photos for a friend — her son’s prom. Although I didn’t see it as a ’session’, I think my friend was happy with the photos I took. This session really got me thinking about getting into portrait photography (thank you Darcy
) — I just love capturing people and their emotions…
Not only do I learn about photography at the Photo Talk Forum, but Lori and her staff share some marvelous templates that we can use for our clients. So, last week I sat down with the prom photos, formatted them with a storyboard, sent it off to the printer. Darcy really liked the outcome of the print (oh, I loved it too
)…I think that I will offer these storyboards from now on to my clients. What do you think?

Thank you Ricky, Josh and Brent for allowing me to use your prom photos to promote my business
– You guys are a lot of fun!!!!

Thank you for stopping by today…Have a marvelous weekend.
Book Your Senior Session
Posted on July 26, 2009
By now you are probably scheduled for your Year-Book portrait. Although I am not allowed to take your Year-Book portrait, I surely can offer you a fun session — totally personalized to you.
What are your likes? Do you play a sport? Do you have a super-cool car or motorcycle that you would like to have in your Senior photo? I would love to capture you — what defines you being you. There are some super cool places in the valley that are fun to have as back-drops. And if you book your session by August 31st, I have a super cool gift for you…A personalized License Plate for the front of your car…The template does not do the product (metal) justice, but I thought that I show you what can be done…

I am looking forward hearing from you to schedule your personal Senior Session for 2010.
Until then, take care…
Alexis ~ Senior

I was blessed to have the opportunity to photograph Alexis. Although Alexis is very shy, we had a great time during her session…
Alexis graduated from McClintock High this spring. She is planning to attend college in the late summer. Thank you Alexis for the fun session. I wish you the best for the future.
I hope you enjoy the photos as much as I have enjoyed taken them.

The next photo is my personal favorite…

Since I had so many shots to choose from, I thought to convert one to an ‘antique aged’…

And here is the last one (from 35 formatted photos) I want to share with you…I love that smile

If you are a Senior in 2010 and would like your custom senior portraits, I would love to hear from you. You can request a session via the contact form. Since you stopped by my site, I offer you $25 off the session fee and one 8×10 professional print.
Have a marvelous day…
