Wedding Photography with Erin McFarland

Erin McFarland - Professional Photographer

6 months ago, I had the privilege to shadow Erin McFarland as she was photographing a wedding. Erin is one of my favorite photographers and I was thrilled that she allowed me to hang out with her the entire day. I tell you, she is a hard working woman and is amazing when it comes to wedding photography. She is not only fun, but she listens to her clients and stays the entire time calm and collective. A true professional.

The wedding started out at the Arizona Biltmore, the ceremony took place at King of Glory in Tempe, and for the celebration we went back to the Arizona Biltmore.

Arizona Biltmore

Although it pretty much rained the entire day, the bride and groom kept smiling through it all. The bride, Angela, is the daughter of good friends of mine, Hilton and Rena. Spending the day with Erin and the wedding party made me realize how much I enjoy wedding photography. I am very, very thankful that Erin allowed me to share some of the images I took, here on my website. I love to tell a story with my photographs, so I have picked some of the photos that represent my style of photography.

Yes, it was a very long day, but it was also very gratifying to be able to capture images for a couple that is so very much in love. Will I be doing wedding photography? I would love to, but I am still a novice and need to learn so much more about wedding photography. Erin makes it look very easy. The truth to be told: I was sore for 4 days after the wedding. However, if you are looking for a professional wedding photographer this year, please contact Erin McFarland; you will not regret it!

Until next time…Live, laugh and love…

  1. Iris! Thank you so much for your sweet words! What an amazing fun day that was for sure :) . You’ve got a gift my friend and I loved seeing the day through your eyes as well. That one of Angela and Scott zipping away in their vehicle to the church is one of my favorite shots. Loved that they got to have that image because you snapped it at just the right moment…at just the right angle. See? That’s so much of what wedding photography is all about…just being ready to capture images while their wedding story unfolds :) . Hope I see lots more wedding photography from you in the future!!

Hestan ~ Gilbert Newborn Photography

Last weekend I had the honor to photograph little Hestan and his family in their beautiful home in Gilbert, Arizona. I don’t know what it is about photographing a newborn, but they make my heart skip a beat faster. Hestan was very good during the session. One thing that you need to know about newborn session: take your time, be patient and have your camera ready to take the photo.

Although it was hard to feature just a few of the images, I am sharing with you my personal favorites of the session.

Hestan is taking a little breather after being moved around the house:

Babies are so sweet! I love this soft photo of Hestan and his beautiful mama:

Hestan’s brother just loves to comfort him; and Hestan got introduced to the orange of the OKC Thunder (thanks to Micki Kessler for making the custom blanket for me).

Oh, I so love this photograph of Hestan with his two older brothers – priceless!
